In an interview with Variety Thursday morning at The CW Upfront in New York City, Amell teased a new bad guy.

“I’ve heard that our big bad, our villain, is something that you can really only do once you’re in the fifth, sixth or seventh season of a TV show,” Amell said.

Arrow has always done an amazing job at illustrating the villains that they bring in. In fact, they have already featured many of Green Arrow’s most notorious and notable villains from the comic book series. Slade Wilson, Damien Darhk, Danny Brickwell, and Malcolm Merlyn, just to name a few. This new Season 5 villain sounds incredibly impressive, and I cannot wait to find out more information on the character.

Asked if he knew more details, Amell teased, “I do; as far as I know, they don’t have superpowers. I’ll tell you that.”

Earlier this week, we reported that Supergirl was going to be moving to The CW. Although there are not many details in regards as to which weekday it will be sitting in, the news alone is exciting. I am very much looking forward to seeing where they will be taking the direction of the show.

“‘Supergirl’ is coming, but we don’t have to introduce a new show next year. In Season 2, it was the introduction of ‘The Flash’ and crossovers there, and last year there was a lot with ‘Legends of Tomorrow,’ and we don’t have to do that this year because ‘Supergirl’ is already established,” Amell said. “So I would like to focus on a lot of the stuff that I think ‘Arrow’ does very well.”

After it was announced that there would be a four-way-superhero-crossover, both actors and fans shared in the excitement.

“I’m always interested and it’s always great for fans. I just have to make sure that they balance keeping up the quality of your show — last year when they wanted me to come to ‘Legends’ and play old Oliver, I was like, ‘That would be awesome, but show me how this works in our schedule so it’s not comprising whatever episode we’re working on.’ And it was great and we did it. So I would just like to see a plan.”

Arrow will return on Wednesday, May 25th at 8PM/EST on The CW
