‘Jumanji’ Will Pay Tribute to Robin Williams
In April it was announced that everyone’s favorite guy Dwayne Johnson would star in the Jumanji. As a child growing up in the early 90’s Robin Williams was the closest you could get to real magic, he played so many of everyone’s favorite characters animated and live action. Jumanji was released in 1995, Robin played the adult Allan Parrish who had been trapped in that terrifying game for 26 years. When Hollywood announces they are remaking/re-imagining a childhood classic most people take a deep breath and frown, do that to Robin Williams classic it hurts a little more. If you were to trust a loving childhood memory to someone it would have to be Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson though right? So we are taking a deep breath and waiting to see what Sony gives us! In a lengthy Instagram post Johnson talks about his confidence in the project, as well as his love and respect for Robin Williams. He promised his fans that they would be honoring
Robin’s contribution to the world and his character, “You have my word, we will honor his name and the character of “Alan Parrish” will stand alone and be forever immortalized in the world of JUMANJI in an earnest and cool way.”
We are trusting you with our childhoods Mr. Rock Johnson, be amazing!
