Stormtroopers Boogie Down on ‘Britain’s Got Talent’

Fans of Britain’s Got Talent and American Idol know, it takes a lot to make Simon Cowell smile. But that’s exactly what happened Saturday night, when this unique dance troop took to the stage.

The dance troop, called Boogie Storm, came out on stage dressed as Stormtroopers and, from their pre-performance interview (if that’s what you can call it) to the final moments of their routine, you can see the amusement and excitement on Cowell’s face as well as the within the rest of the judges.

The Stormtroopers boogie down to a medley including Fleur East‘s ‘Sax’, Silento’s ‘Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae)’, Psy’s ‘Gangnam Style’, and closing out with Beyoncé‘s ‘Single Ladies’. Their routine won the hearts of the judges, particularly Cowell who chose the act as his Golden Buzzer Act of this year.

The Golden Buzzer allows the contestants a straight shot over to live the semi-finals and, getting that type of nod from Simon is pretty impressive.

Simon told them, “I don’t know who you are but, I literally said if we could find Stormtroppers who could dance, seriously, I said that, this show is going to go into a different league. My dream has come true. Thank you.”

David Williams said, “No surprise that the real life Darth Vader voted for his troops. It was brilliant but I do worry Simon Cowell may have lost his mind.”

To which Cowell responded, “I don’t care but, you know what, The Dark Side has taken over. Congratulations!  See you in the finals, guys!”

Check out their awesome routine below! What do you think? Would this have been your Golden Buzzer performance pick?
