Could ‘The Big Bang Theory’ End in 2017?

As season 9 wraps up, showrunner Steve Molaro has said before that the 2016-2017 season could be the last season. But he has also said that “it’s certainly possible” the show will continue beyond season 10 next year.

“The reality is that maybe Season 10 is the ending point. I don’t know and all I can do right now is go episode to episode and try to make each one the best that we can. There’s still so many episodes to go. Even if hypothetically season 10 was the end, I wouldn’t be focusing on that yet. That seems like something that would be dealt with way down the line.” – Molaro.

Chuck Lorre, the show’s creator has recently revealed that he isn’t quite ready to let the show go and put an official end date on it.

“I’m not going to presume to know how many years this has because it’s ridiculous for me to guess. As long as everybody is having a good time and we’re making a show we’re proud of … then it’s worth continuing.” – Lorre.

If the show does end in 2017, Molaro and Lorre have said that there are several plot lines that they want to straighten out first. Some of
them are:

  • An official formal wedding for Penny and Leonard.
  • A scientific breakthrough for Leonard and Sheldon.
  • An introduction of extended family members which include Sheldon’s meemaw, Penny’s mom and Leonard’s dad.

We’ve met Meemaw and Leonard’s dad is going to enter into the show early in season 10. He’s going to be played by Judd Hirsch. What I want to know is what is Penny’s last name??

Do you think The Big Bang Theory has reached its end?

What plot lines would you want to see finished up?
