Syfy Nearing Deal for Superman Prequel Series Krypton

Entertainment Weekly reports that Syfy is close to green-lighting Krypton, a series that focuses on Superman’s grandfather and how the House of El became the Kryptonian powerhouse that we
know. The story takes place 200 years before the destruction of the planet when the House of El was in disgrace. That sounds incredibly interesting to me.
Executive producer David S. Goyer has been toying with this idea since 2014. He previously wrote Man of Steel and co-wrote Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. He and Ian Goldberg have penned the pilot. Sleepy Hollow‘s Damian Kindler is attached as showrunner and executive producer while Peaky Bliners‘ Colm McCarthey is set to direct the pilot.
