‘MAD TV’ Returning to Television on The CW
Adding to the growing list of revivals and reboots, The CW has announced that it will be bringing back the popular sketch comedy show, ‘MAD TV‘, to primetime. The show originally aired on the Fox network from 1995 through 2009 and followed a similar format to SNL. ‘MAD TV‘ brought us some classic and unforgettable characters such as Stuart, Antonia, and Ms. Swan.
The CW has picked up eight hour-long episodes of the show which will feature both original and new cast members. David Salzman is set to return as executive producer/showrunner. In a press release, Salzman said, “the MAD TV franchise is as vibrant as ever thanks largely to social and digital media appealing to a fan base numbering in the millions that relates to the show’s brand of authentic and irreverent cross-cultural comedy… We will continue to present the hard-hitting, laugh-out-loud, wall-to-wall pop culture parody our fans expect, but in a fresh, new way.”
There is no set premiere date just yet but, keep checking back with us at Fan Fest News for more updates as they become available.
