Justice League vs Teen Titans is the seventh straight to video title for the DC animated universe. The first title was Justice League: Flash Point Paradox, though that did not fit in with the current story line. The upcoming title will be the first apperence of the Teen Titans in this animated world. Before the release on Tuesday everyone should formularize themselves with the characters. The plot set up for this movie is; Robin is sent to work with the Teen Titans after his volatile behavior botches up a Justice League mission. The Titans must then step up to face Trigon after he possesses the League and threatens to conquer the world.
The Justice League Members as listed on IMDB
Batman voiced by Jason O’Mara:
O’Mara has voiced Batman since Justice League: War in 2014. This Batman has to the viewers knowledge only had two protogues, Dick Grayson and his son Damian Wayne whom he was introduced to in Son of Batman. Batman: Bad Blood saw the introduction Batwing and Batwoman, with a brief teaser introduction to Batgirl in the end credits. His Batfam isn’t quiet as extensive as it is in the comics, but still rather large. Batman is the typical mood and brood Batman we have come to expect, he has an incredibly hard time to emotionally connecting to his family and peers.
Superman voiced by Jerry O’Connell:
This will be O’Connell’s second time voicing the Man of Steel, his previous work on Justice League: Throne of Atlantis was good. I enjoyed Alan Tudyk’s work in the first film better, but he still does a fantastic job. Batman and Superman tend to have slight power struggle moments in these films, really though the two titans have to fight to decide who is dominate! Wonder Woman and Superman have a romance and though that pairing makes sense it has just never done much for me.
Wonder Woman voiced by Rosario Dawson:
Though we are used to seeing Dawson’s face in the Marvel Netflix world, she will be reprising her role as Wonder Woman. Wonder Woman in the series is fresh from her island, new to the world of men. She is naïve and though she can be funny it gets a little old sometimes. I am hoping that the third film shows Wonder Woman as not only a fierce warrior, but as a woman who is growing emotionally as well.
The Flash voiced by Christopher Gotham:
Gotham has voiced the scarlet speedster in all of the Justice League animated films to date. This version of Barry Allen is everything you want him to be. He is witty, funny, and has a big old heart. He cares about the entire team and is really the only of the original seven to be excited about the prospect of a team, other than maybe Billy Watson but he is a child!
Cyborg voiced by Shear Moore:
In Justice League: War we see the birth of Cyborg when high school football star is turned into part man part machine after the Darkside invasion starts. In the first movie Victor Stone became Cyborg and immediately went to war along side the DC big hitters. In the second movie Vic struggles with trying to figure out if he is still a man even though he is mostly machine. Shemar Moore is returning to voice Cyborg for a third time, he brings a vulnerability to the character the he really needs if you want an audience to love a machine man. Cyborg and Batman have a relationship that I like, Batman isn’t close with many but I really think he respects the vast knowledge Cyborg has access to. He also appears as a member of the Teen
Titans so it will be interesting to see where his loyalties lie.
Notably Green Lantern and Shazam are missing from the Justice League line up.
Now for the Teen Titans:
Nightwing voiced by Sean Maher:
This is the fourth time Maher has voiced Dick Grayson, though this is his first time in one of the Justice League movies instead of the solo Batman titles. Dick is a fun character, a capable fighter, and one of the most well respected leaders in the DC universe. Sean Maher brings the fun witty Dick that you want to see, in Batman: Bad Blood we got to see Dick
Grayson struggling with living in Batman’s shadow.
Robin voiced by Stuart Allan:
This is also Stuart Allan’s fourth time voicing Damian Wayne. Damian is
the biological son of Bruce Wayne and Talia al Ghul, until recent events he was raised solely by his mother and grandfather. He is extremely well trained, but very arrogant. Since his introduction Damian has fought with himself and everyone else about controlling his impulses control. Based on the plot of the movie it sounds like Damian’s attitude is going to get everyone in trouble once again!
Starfire voiced by Kari Wahlgren:
In Batman: Bad Blood there was a brief scene where Dick was fighting crime talking this his girl friend
on the phone. Her name is Kori then you see her picture and it is Starfire. In the comic’s Dick Grayson has history with Kori so it is fun that they are choosing to go with that path. Koriand’r is Starfire’s given name, she is a princess from the planet Tamaran. As this will be the first real appearance of Kori in this DC world it will be interesting to see where they take the character.
The three fresh faces to the Titans are Blue Beetle, Raven, and Beast Boy voiced by Jake T. Austin, Taissa Farmiga, and Brandon Soo Hoo respectively. All three characters are fun and brings a lot of power to the table.
Last but certainty not least we have our villain for the upcoming film; Trigon, he will be voiced by Jon Bernthal. Trigon is a demon and the father of Raven. He is one of the most powerful villains in the DC world. Jon Bernthal has such a deep voice I am excited to see him play such a powerful villain, especially being on The Punisher high I am currently still on.
