Since the announcement that Barry Allen would be making his way to National City, we have been anxiously awaiting episode 18, ‘Worlds Finest.’ CBS decided to give us a teaser that definitely left us wanting more. You can check out the video on the official Supergirl Facebook page. All we get is lightning moving around the Supergirl logo and then Barry coming to a halt in National City where Supergirl instantly appears. She doesn’t look too thrilled by his presence, but I bet that doesn’t last long because, come on, it’s Barry.

In the episode, Kara and Barry team up to take down Siobhan Smythe, who is a fully realized Silver Banshee, and Leslie Willis, aka Livewire. Barry agrees to the team up to take down these two villains in exchange for help getting back to his own world. This confirms that the CW Flash/Arrow universe exists on a different world than CBS’ Supergirl. I like that they are taking this angle because it aligns with the multiverse idea of the comics. This will also strengthen all of the DC universe by allowing the movies and TV shows to logically all exist. Everything is just happening on different worlds.

It will be an interesting team up for both the heroes and villains. Smythe and Willis both have a bone to pick with one Cat Grant, so I bet that is part of the reason why they decide to join forces.

What is also really interesting is there are photos showing Lucy

Lang at the DEO, and not with her father. With Hank’s reveal to the world at the end of episode 16, there is an opening for a director. I was thinking that it might be General Lang who takes up the mantle, but there is a very good chance that it will instead go to Lucy. In the photo to the right, she is definitely exerting some power over the others. If she is indeed the new director, this will be tough for Kara and James. It was never really stated if she is a friend or foe of Supergirl. Lucy believed that James was in love with her (which he kind of is but Lucy doesn’t know it’s Kara), but that may not have caused her to flat out hate the woman of steel. That was has father. But if she finds out Supergirl’s true identity, I think that she would take it out on Kara and the DEO. It will be interesting to see what happens moving forward and I expect we will have an answer to Lucy’s DEO involvement in episode 17.

I am really excited for the crossover episode and think that it is going to be a load of fun. From the photo to the left, you can tell that the actors had a great time working together. That will definitely translate onscreen. Barry and Kara are goofy balls of sunshine when they aren’t playing superhero and I think that their character dynamic will be really great. Hopefully, this will lead to future episodes with The Flash, Arrow, and Legends of Tomorrow. Can you imagine all of them under the same roof? That would be one crazy episode.

‘Worlds Finest’ airs Monday, March 28 on CBS.
