‘The Flash’ Preview ‘Fast Lane’

The Flash Preview ‘Fast Lane’

Oh, boy.

This week, Flash faces off against a metahuman made from tar. Named Tar Pit by Cisco, this guy is seriously bad news. He can shoot and transform into tar and seems to be unstoppable. It’s going to take more brains than brawn to bring him down.

In the preview, Iris is on the front line when she is struck by a large piece of glass. Barry tries to intercept the shard, but wasn’t quick enough. Hopefully, the team is able to save her life without Barry resorting to running back in time.

Harry is still “working” for Zoom and has devised a way to siphon off Barry’s speed by modifying the crest in the Flash suit. I think that Barry not stopping the glass will be a clue that something is wrong with his speed. This might only serve to get him to work harder to get faster, which will then offer more to Zoom. It’s up to Cisco and Caitlin to figure out what is actually going on, more so Cisco since he and Harry are close.

In casting news, Allison Paige will guest star in episode 16 as Eliza Harmon, aka Trajectory. Trajectory is a speedster that has decided to use her abilities for evil. It will be fun to see another speeders on the show, especially one that is female.

In other news, Robbie Amell is returning as Earth-2 Ronnie Raymond, who has taken the name Deathstorm. He and his wife, Caitlin Snow, aka Killer Frost, are evil partners in crime. Both are set to appear in episode 13, “Welcome to Earth-2.” At Heroes and Villains Fan Fest New York/ New Jersey, Amell let slip that he will kill a main character.

Before everyone starts freaking out, let’s talk this through. From the extended second half of the season preview, we see Barry, Cisco, and Harry going through the breach, so those three are the main contenders. They won’t kill Barry, for obvious reasons. I don’t think Cisco will be the one to go since he is developing his powers and becoming an essential part of the team. Plus, we saw him die already last season and that would be mean to have it be him again. Harry is the likely option, but it wouldn’t really make sense. Deathstorm and Killer Frost probably have a connection to Zoom, which Harry also has. So I don’t think they would intentionally kill Harry, but he might accidentally get caught up in a fire blast if he was trying to save his daughter.

My bet is that our victim will be an Earth-2 doppleganger. We’ve seen Iris and Barry from Earth-2 in the preview, and it has been confirmed that Joe-2 will make an appearance. I think one of those three is in danger of being killed by Deathstorm.

But first, “Fast Lane” airs Tuesday and will likely set up the journey through the breach.
