‘Supergirl’ Preview ‘Hostile Takeover’

Supergirl Preview ‘Hostile Takeover’

The next episode of Supergirl looks like it is going to be pretty heavy on the actions as we see the return of Astra. As I have talked about before, I was getting a little worried that we hadn’t heard from the big bad in a while. Last time we saw her (episode 2), she had Kryptonite poisoning. I think that she has taken the time to figure out a way to reduce her vulnerability to the rock so that Supergirl and the DEO can’t use that against her again. The fight between Kara and her aunt will be a good one and it will be proof of Kara’s growth over the weeks.

According to an interview with ComicBook.com, David Harewood confirms that now that we have J’onn J’onnz, White Martians will appear on the show episode 11. In the comics, there are two alien races on Mars, the Green and the White Martians. The White Martians are responsible for the death of the entire Green Martian species. I am excited for more from Martian Manhunter and I think that over the coming weeks, we will see Henshaw reveal himself to Kara, if not by the 11th episode, in the 11th episode.

With the appearance of the White Martians, we might also get to have another Martian join the show. Her name is Miss Martian, and she is a White Martian that goes against her roots and becomes a hero. Her most recent appearance was on Young Justice. If we do get to see her, there will definitely be an interesting dynamic between her and J’onn since her people were responsible for the genocide on Mars. I think it would be great if she came into the show since the stories involving Martian Manhunter are not as well know.

As we head into the winter finale, there really isn’t a whole lot of new news or much details on the coming episode. After this, we won’t see Supergirl until it returns January 4, 2016.
