‘The Flash’ Preview ‘Running to Stand Still’

The Flash Preview ‘Running to Stand Still’

In Tuesday’s mid-season finale, Barry goes against three of his former opponents. Weather Wizard, who escaped at in the final episode of season one, breaks Captain Cold and Trickster (the original) out of prison. They decide to team up and wreak havoc over Christmas. Doesn’t seem like we will be getting a whole lot of Zoom this week, but Mark Hamill’s Trickster is a welcome sight. He is really seriously creepy in the episode trailer.

Keiynan Lonsdale will make his highly-anticipated appearance as Wally West. I know I’ve been waiting for forever for him to come into the picture. We don’t know if Wally has any speedster capabilities, and I don’t think he does. Maybe the second half of the season will see Wally embracing the Speed Force and becoming Kid Flash. Barry could use some help since Jay has no powers and just disappears and Firestorm will be off to Legends of Tomorrow.

Speaking of Legends, Captain Cold appears in the preview at Barry’s house. Since Leonard is expected to go semi- good for the new series, I think he comes to Barry to warn him about Trickster and Weather Wizard. Maybe he and Barry will have an awesome team-up moment.

I think there’s going to be a lot of heart in this episode. We are obviously going to have a lot from Joe as he finds out about Wally. There is also going to be some hardship between Barry and Patty (remember, she shot Harry in S.T.A.R. Labs and Joe yelled at her). I think that maybe, just maybe, Barry will come clean. Like I wrote about last time, if Patty is shut out, I think bad things will happen for Team Flash. Patty doesn’t seem like the type to turn evil, but she will definitely get in their way and make things difficult.

This is the final episode of the year, and there isn’t yet a return date. So enjoy this last episode and then it’s a Flash-less void
for a little bit.
