Supergirl Preview ‘Human for a Day’

In the next episode of Supergirl, we learn that Kara has exhausted her powers during the fight with Red Tornado. James tells her to try and just enjoy her day off, but, naturally, an earthquake strikes the city and puts everyone in danger.

The earthquake traps Alex and Henshaw inside the DEO with an escaped alien named Jemm. It will be interesting to see how this one turns out because Alex knows a bit more about the truth behind her father’s death. Things will be really tense between the two of them. I wonder if Henshaw will be forced to use his powers against Jemm, but the question is, will he act in front of Alex?

Last week, it was announced that CBS had ordered a full season pick-up. Woohoo! That means we are in for a total of 20 episodes. It came a little late in the show’s run, and I was getting a worried. Supergirl pulled it off though and CBS believes in the show, but really, it’s thanks to all the viewers.

There were rumors circulating that since Supergirl got a full season order, we might possibly see a crossover with CW’s The Flash. Variety did a photo spread of Melissa Benoist and Grant Gustin together in costume over the summer, and since the shows are created by some of the same people, we thought that this might happen sometime down the road. I would love to see Barry and Kara together, but executive producer Andrew Kreisberg put those speculations to rest. It seems that legally it would be difficult to make this happen since the shows are on different networks. This same speculation applied a couple of months ago about John Constantine appearing on Arrow, but they made that happen recently. Some agreement could be reached between CBS and The CW, but we shouldn’t expect anything to happen anytime soon.

In casting news, Italia Ricci joins the cast as the villainess Silver Banshee. She is slated to appear for a couple of episodes starting in episode 14. Originally in the comics, Silver Banshee was a foe of Superman, but in the New 52 reboot, Silver Banshee became Siobhan Smyth, who later comes to realize her abilities. She is also a good friend of Kara’s. In the description for the show, Siobhan is a new hire at CatCo and threatens Kara’s position. Sounds like they aren’t going to be too friendly.
