‘Marvel’s Jessica Jones’ Recap ‘AKA I’ve Got the Blues’
As Hope dies in her arms, Jessica is reminded of the time when she was in the hospital right after the accident. The survivors come up with a story that they went to the bar for a drink but that Hope killed herself with the stem of a glass.
After the police take their statements, Jessica and Trish take a pit stop to the morgue after a John Doe was sent in. They think it’s Kilgrave’s father. But it isn’t. Trish insists that Jessica should get some sleep and that being knocked unconscious doesn’t count.
Instead, Jesica goes to morgues all over the city looking for Kilgrave’s father. The last one on the list, Mt. Sinai, isn’t a morgue anymore. Exhausted, Jessica sits on the ground and falls asleep. When she wakes, she sees a man that looks like Kilgrave and follows him. Right into a moving car. And it’s not even Kilgrave.
At Trish’s radio station, Will comes to see her. He apologizes for Kozlov’s drugs making him do things he didn’t want to do. She halfheartedly accepts his apology. Trish leaves her show to pick up Jessica, and takes care of her injuries. Trish tucks Jessica into bed.
Jessica has a flashback to when she first discovers her powers. It was after the accident when she was living with Trish and her
mother. Jessica’s flashback it interrupted by a text from the morgue operator. He has another body.
So Jessica goes to check him out. The body is badly burned, beyond recognition. The chart says it’s Det. Clemons. Jessica immediately
assumes that Kilgrave did this. Will confronts Trish and starts blaming Jessica for always being in the way. They are interrupted by two of Dr. Kozlov’s guys. They were ordered to bring him back to the program. He takes two red pills that Dr. Kozlov gave him and he immediately kills them in front of Trish. Will locks Trish into her safe room and drags the bodies into her apartment.
Jessica goes to her apartment to wait for Trish. But Will is on the other side with a gun. A neighbor comes out into the hall
and spares Jessica a few more moments. Jessica and Will talk about Det. Clemons’s murder. He was shot in the head by a police issued weapon. Jessica knows that Will killed Det. Clemons. He takes another pill which seems to make him as strong as Jessica. Trish shows up and hits him with a fire extinguisher. They lock themselves in the bathroom. Trish takes a red pill and begins to fight back. Trish and Jessica kill Will, but Trish stops breathing. Her tolerance for the pills is nonexistent.
In the ambulance, the EMT gives Trish an IV which gets her lungs working again. Jessica spends the night in the hospital with Trish.
“You just had to be the hero.”- Jessica to Trish.
While there, she gets a text from an unknown number saying that if she hurries, she can still save her “boyfriend.” She immediately goes to Luke’s bar and EXPLOSION! (Yeah it scared the crap out of me too.)
Luke, being unbreakable, comes out of the flames and Jessica helps put him out.
When Beth “grows up” she wants to see her creations appear on the screen and stage. In her free time, Beth blogs about her love of craft beer and writes screenplays.
